Well I have the option of getting an alien bee 800 or a wii console with the wii fit and a couple of remotes

I know I am taking a break form photography but I have been wanting "good lights" for quite a while... even if I just use them for my kids and family and friends and don;t make money lol.... I have the softbox with ring stand for it but no bee....
at the dame time I really would like a wii with the wii fit so i can workout with my friends from around the us.... so I need to make a decision this weekend lol

I just recently purchased the Wii fit. Good decision. Gives a way to pass the winter duldrums up in the Northeast where I'm located. While I do need other camera equipment, I've put it on hold temporarily. If you're just wanting to take pictures for just for the sake of taking pictures and having fun with the camera I'd go with the Wii, and focus on the bee when I would decide to get serious about the photography again.

I dont think not using the wii is not an option if you buy one. I would be more worried about "what if I buy one and never get off of it and the kids never eat or bathe again"...

you should have the same worries with the AB as you do with the wii...

what if you buy it and don't use it?

which one do you think you will use more?

Samba De Amigo rocks on the Wii! My wife and I got bored within a month of the Wii Fit tho- it's awesome at first, but you get bored really quick with the same routines/games. I really wish they'd come out with an update or a new version with more stuff to do.

And Samba- look it up- we get more of a work out with it that the Wii Fit.

All this being said, I'd still get the Wii because of all the games- there's plenty of exercise and dance games available not to mention tons of other just plain fun games too.

The only way to solve this issue in IMO is to visit Gamestop or any other video game specialty store to demo the Wii, Wii Fit, and any of the available games.

Loana, I wasn't impressed with the Wii fit personally. But I was with the dance revolution. But I think we had the expensive thick metal board....If you want to borrow them, pm me, the kids don't use either anymore.

As fat as I am and would like to loose the weight I still think I would go with the AB.
My sister got the fit for Christmas and I think she has gotten on it 2 times. And is already using the excuse she doesn't have time.
Good luck with what ever you decide. And like someone else said think about which one you would use the most, and get the most money from.

Go for the Wii.

If you really need good light, there is a large, glowing orb that rises in the east and sets in the west every day. A good set of reflectors can help you tame the bright beast (if you don't already have them). Find a room with a north-facing window and you're all set for indoor portraits. :-)

ok so I ended up getting the ab800 I figured I will be having mini valentine shoots and I can make some money for the wii there ;)
I am still deciding about the dance revolution... I am leaning towards getting the kids a trampoline with enclosure for back yard and let them exercise the old fashion way... for me I wanted fit but realistically I go to gym about twice a day or at least once a day so I am not sure I will make excuse and end up saying.. no I am not getting on it I am tired ;)

I'm not a gamer, but don't have the discipline to go to a gym on a regular basis. The Wii Fit works for me. But I guess it's a matter of what you would get better use of, the bee or the Wii. Lol
