I'd do that for my Regal but the results would be too depressing.

Not bad. Drop your maximum speed to 65mph, and your gas mileage will increase. I think—if my memory serves me correctly—you'll gain about one mile per gallon for every 5mph you drop down to 60mph.

My car does most of that for me now. 2009 Jetta Sportwagon TDI currently getting 31.4 MPG local, not driving conservatively. No good highway runs with it yet.

only 31.4 on a diesel? dang, you must be beating the tar outta that thing....
yeah, our old 93 Chrysler minivan had a console computer that gave you ave and instant mpg, estimated miles to empty and a lot of other fun stuff. Like 90mpg coasting downhill.....it wouldn't however tell you when it was next due to fall apart.....but that was an easy guess: within 1000 miles.
jonney, thanx, a few more are here: http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=47072

Only a Civic owner would keep stats like that.
Gas is less than $2, so it's time to go buy a Hummer or something.

Some of my driving habits from the Cobra may be carrying over. That thing gets 10-12 local, but 24+ highway at about a 90MPH average.

Yeah my diesel gets pretty bad mileage too. Empty I get around 6.8. Loaded light I can pull about 6. Loaded heavy, well Ive seen as little as 2.8mpg going across the mountains on I70 through Colorado. I can usually average about 5.5 loaded normal. Oh well those are the trials of hauling heavy equipment. Life aint easy when you weigh 120,000 lbs.
