For most of us, we are able to complete our careers and retire with an uneventful career. Unfortunately for my fallen conrad here, his career has come to a 28 minute procession!

Godspeed!

This was Corporal Norm Smith. He was a Dallas Police Officer who was shot and killed on day shy of 18 years with the department. He was a member of the DP Gang Unit, who was shot in an attempt to arrest a fugitive. He was the first one in on the raid and was shot through the closed door as they knocked.

His funeral ended at 1:30PM on Friday. The procession literally went half-way around the Interstate 635 loop of Dallas. They closed the freeways ahead of the procession for the estimated 6,000 police officers who attended. There were police and Fire Departments on every overpass to pay their respects as he passed by.
