I will tell you I am so close to my crazy hounds at home and had to part with 1 several years ago. Not a day goes by I do not think about how hard it was to loose one and how hard it will be to loose the 2 I have. I can not even go see Marley and me. However, the pain of loosing them is more than offset by the pleasure of spending 17 (9 and 7 in my case) years with a family member who is seldom in a bad mood, had a bad day or gets angry with you (except when you take her tutu off..lol). You did a really great thing giving Tex 17 great years of life so when you cry in sorrow remember he was a happy boy who had a great life.
