They just opened a new one down the road from me as well. I've always kinda liked Circuit City. We bought my wife's first iMac from them.

Of course, the long and short of it is that Best Buy's prices are going up. Circuit City was pretty much it for their direct competition...

While I'll be cruisin' the stands to see what I can find, I've read other reports that stated prices would be raised back up to MSRP and they will liquidate like that, or pass it along to a bulk liquidator.

What's a poor bottom feeder to do? I love liquidation sales, and now they're taking that away from me. :(

BTW, while I'm all for competition, CC was off my approved vendor list a long time ago. Selection wasn't that great, prices weren't great, and the "service" was just as bad as anyother place. Not a great combination in my book.

Yeah, Always a good idea to keep opening new stores when you are about to go out of business.

They have been on the blocks for the last year or 2. Blockbuster was going to buy them a year ago and even they were smart enough not to do it (well ok, they did not get the funding).

Well, I guess that means they better hurry and jack up their prices 200% so they can offer 1/2 off sales. I hate Circuit City because they do stuff like that. Their liquidation prices are always about the same you can get from Fry's or Best Buy or anyone else for that matter.

While I really didn't care for Circut City, trying to get someone to help you or even ask a question was as easy as winning the Mega Million lottery. Still, I hate to see so many people lose their jobs during this difficult time. Just adds to the growing unemployment .
