yes, I'm still trying to get my house fixed after Ike and so far, I've gotten two estimates - one that is fairly reasonable and onethat is completely outrageous (I think the guy just priced it high because he didn't really want to do the job)

I'd like to get one more estimate before calling the first guy back and I live in NW Houston (Cypress area) so any names, phone numbers, or web sites would be apprecaited....

sorry, that might have helped...
I've had two general contractors so I didn't have to specifiy:

two rooms and a bathroom need to be completely re-done
Sheetrock - ceilings and walls
Tile
insulation
carpet
paint
texture

similar parts in other rooms

Nathan,
In that my mother in law has been living with me since the storm due to EXCESSIVE damage - I can HIGHLY recommend Talley Construction. Do a quick google search for them - they are pro's - and deal with the insurance guys quite easily.
Good luck.
Donna

Yeah I am in the middle of deciding who to use for remodeling too. Man they charge alot, and all I need is a kitchen to be completely redone, Master Bed/bath and some minor things in the family room.....

Anyone knows who does cheap but good painting??? I am in the Belliare/Galleria area :(

Sorry, don't have any contacts in Houston. We usually just get a guy to do the drywall separately. Most of the time it's cheaper than getting one guy to come and do it all.
