I'll proudly tell my kids I sat at worked and watched a live stream of the inauguration!

Im watching bits of it but Im not paying too much attention to the non important stuff. I will probably watch the speech but other than that I dont really care about the press commentary.

sitting here in my home office, paying bills, monitoring TPF, and watching the inauguraton of the 44th President of the United States. No matter what your politics, it is an amazing spectacle.

Who was the guy behind Obama at the end of the speech? Wrong eye, pop up flash, left hand on zoom but covering the flash. Leather camera case at hip. I'd have given a years pay to be in that location and he's gonna get bad exposures, bad composition, bad, bad, bad.

It is an amazing sight and no matter your politics, you cannot help but feel pride and patriotic. I hope my children are able to watch as well. I'm watching at home so no live feed for me on the internet.

Yeah, Fox News and CNN were both slow, so I went to NPR's website. Only lagged a couple of times.

Who else is loving Bush Senior's hat? Makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where George gets Elaine to buy him that $8,000 hat...

Frankly, I couldn't care less. I think the time and money wasted on the inauguration is ridiculous. The man is going to be president, whether they throw this big party (and that's all it is) or not. And I say this in a totally nonpartisan way. I wouldn't watch regardless of who was elected. In fact, even if I were elected president, I'd still be a no-show at the inauguration.

I'm embarrassed to admit but I have a hat just like it. Bought it when we went to Alaska. It is really, really warm though. The kid now uses it when hunting in the cold.

i watched it as the last inauguration i watched was Clinton and I didnt vote this year but like it was said...it is history!
