Anyone ever watch TMZ-paparazi tv show?

I know they do a lot of video on the site but they also use some still shots from slr's.

Sometimes the photography that they use is quite good.

I HATE that show. It's not the format or the subject matter. It's their pompous attitudes when they are brainstorming. Who the F does these tards think they are. They are so mean spirited and abrasive.

IMO, it's the TV equivalent of sitting down to watch Oprah with a tub of Haagen-Dazs: there's nothing worthwhile in it and - in the end - all it does is make you feel dirty for having watched. It's a close cousin of my beef with TV news and their insistence on putting "entertainment news" into a legitimate newscast. Simply said, it's trash TV.

I was trying to focus on the quality of some of the photos not the content.

There have been several shots that had to have been shot with a 400mm + fast lens to get it and many are crystal clear (well as they look on TV or the net), so there are some skilled pap's out there that they buy work from.

With more and more celebrities in the state either living or visiting here it would seam that there may be a revenue stream for freelancers opening up.

BTW I like their comments, many are witty and biting-only a few times are they really cringe worthy and in the video many of the celebs have gotten to know TMZ's camera guys over the last year and have figured out how to handle them as part of the job.

without a doubt there is talent, even in sleaze. I hear that there are some very good photographers and videographers doing porn, but it doesn't mean I would buy some to review the lighting aspects......

all kidding aside, personally I can't see supporting this type of business, either by watching shows that promote it or fawning over some 'celebrity' who for some inane reason the press (and many otherwise-sane people) think are important outside their avocation.

I'll admit I watch it. I don't watch it as a news source, but I find it entertaining to see who thinks they are celebrity and why they are "famous". It's certainly and interesting social expirement.

Those people are an abomination and represent all that is wrong with American culture, not to mention how horrible they make honest, hard working photographers look.

TMZ is awesome. I wouldn't participate in it as a photographer but I will sure as heck watch it.
