Then I'd be on the phone with 115 papers trying to get copies (as well as downloading every scan off the Newseum web site).

That would make one heck of a wall display!

Hehe yeah...It'd make for an excellent tear sheet book...then again I have a feeling everyone in the industry is gonna know his name....

This is an award-deserved situation if I've ever seen one...he wasn't just in the right place at the right time...he actively assessed the situation and came up with a plan to achieve the shot(s) that he wanted....

We're the only group that can take an event such as this and turn the conversation totally to the technical equipment. :-)

I would think to protect the camera for one, make it easier to attach the case the stage for two and there are probably others reasons.

Noise. It was really close to the microphones and the noise may cause the President and Chief Justice to mess up the oath... oh! I guess the noise didn't matter.

Another technical note. I heard/read that they had a lot of cell phone jammers in place all over the area. That could have created some signal interference, hence the wired triggering.

I laughed so hard about that.

On a further note, I just saw on tv that he re-resited the oath correctly today, just to err on the safe side.
