If it's still there, there used to be a game hall with lots of old video games and I think bowling and maybe bumper cars. Something we used to do quite a bit when I worked in Cimarron for a few summers was rent scooters and ride around town...probably not good for the kids, but awesome for the adults. They also rent 4-wheel bicycles for town and 4-wheelers and jeeps for trips into the mountains. Taos is not too far away, so if you or the kids get bored, I recommend a side-trip. Rio Grande Gorge is not too far away either, for photo opportunities. Couldn't tell you much about lodging, but I do know there are cabins for rent, so I would think there is something with a kitchen available. Keep in mind, it's been a few years since I've been there, so it may have changed. If it's still there, Texas Red's is a great place to eat. If you go to Taos, look for a place called Outback Pizza on the north end of town. They encourage writing on everything with crayons, so the kids will love it, and they have awesome pizza. |
