If you are in Washington from now through April, the prints which made up Frank's "The Americans" considered to perhaps be the greatest photographic book of the 20th Century are now on display. The exhibit includes contact sheets and analysis of the organization of the book's images.
It is at the National Gallery.
Later this year it will be at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and then in New York City at the MOMA.
Frank's "The Americans" is one of those books that every photographer should have on the shelf.

Why can't Texas ever get shows like this?
Better yet why not contact the Amon Carter with it's strong commitment to photography and suggest they consider hosting a fourth stop on this tour.
