medical personnel needed!! - 01-26-2009, 08:31 PM

So last weekend Child #1 is diagnosed with strep. This weekend child #2 comes home and it appears she has strep. Because of medical issues, she can only take one kind of antibiotic, so instead of getting tested, the doc just gives her a prescription. This morning, I'm not convinced it's strep...maybe some flu..who knows. Then tonight Child #3 starts complaining of a sore throat...and Child #4 has this lovely rash!! We are almost positive he has had chicken pox...what else could it be???

The good news...there aren't any more kids to get sick!!!

Check the inside of their mouth too!! That's one of the 1st places for chicken pox. My step-daughter had a rash similar to this, and an upset stomach. She had no sore throat of any kind, yet when they took her to the doctor, he said that strep was going around and tested her for it... sure enough, she had strep!

you can also get a rash from strep throat....so if that is running rampant - i would have that one checked as well .

my daughter had this once after having 'undiagnosed' strep - virtually no symptoms other than a sore throat and headache ONE day, no fever, etc. 2 weeks later, she came down with the rash...it took us a bit to put it together, but she tested postiive for strep and this was the diagnosis...
