Recommend a Point and Shoot Digital... - 09-27-2005, 05:31 PM

My granddad (age 83ish) has decided that he and his wife need to go digital. He's very frugal and has realized that this is the cheapest way to go. He and his wife are pretty good for their age with technology (internet, email, etc), but...they are in their 70s/80s. (Grandpa is 10 years older than my step-grandmother.) Anyway, can anyone recommend a nice, user friendly digital camera? We're thinking of having the whole family chip in and make it an early Christmas gift, but probably less than $300 for EVERYTHING to make it user friendly.

Thanks!

Take a look at EASYSHARE Digital Photo Solution with Z740 Zoom Digital Camera and Printer Dock Series 3 by Kodak. Retails at $450. but there are less expensive models.

Look for the Canon Powershot S1 IS .. ever since the S2 was announced, you can find them for a song... IS, digital/optical zoom combo, and 3 mp... its a great little consumer camera, bought one for my son's birthday last May and didn't pay much more than $300.
