Laser cutting/engraving

Does anyone here have any experience with laser cutting or engraving service companies in Houston? I'm looking for a company that will engrave and sometimes cut thin metal for me on a hobby scale. I've found a few places around town, but they aren't interested unless you're prototyping for a 100+ production run. I just want one offs.

Also and somewhat related, how about cnc wood routing?

Not in Houston, and I only know the bigger run places here in SA. I'm sure you can find a hobby guy somewhere on the net that'll help you out. Also, they sell small laser engravers for hobbyists. Maybe you could look into one, I knew a guy that bought one and paid for it by doing jobs for other people on it.
