Yes, there are 2 lights near the Grapevine Mills shopping center, then no more lights until you get to Coit Road in Frisco/Plano.

Be careful with saying it's 'open'. I drive this road daily on my commute from Plano to Colleyville. Those two little lights can equal about 20+ minutes on a drive from 635 to DNT. Even on a weekend. I can't wait for that section to be completed!

Yeah, I know those lights well. I avoid them like the plague whenever possible.

fyi - The interchange of 121 and the North Dallas is still a series of lights. I have no realistic idea when they will make that a full interchange.

That delay is really only during rush hours. Most of the time outside rush hours the delay is only about a 2-3 minute delay.

They are due to start construction on the overpasses this year.

On Saturday afternoon this weekend, traffic was backed up to 635 as we returned from a soccer tournament in Keller. Could have been an accident or construction issue, but all it takes is a little burp and you're sitting still for quite a while. That was my point.

Wow! So unless I contract some horrible disease, it could be finished in my lifetime? Amazing!

Ya'll just wait a few years for when they start to widen I-35E in Denton. It's gonna be backed up all the way to Dallas. I guarantee.

Traffic is one reason I want to move to a small town and open up the only studio in town. Live on a modest income and enjoy the lower stress that comes with the small-town lifestyle. One day, maybe...

The US government did a study a few years ago on traffic and construction. The results: If you add up all the time you spend in backups and delays while a construction project is in progress, and compare it to the time that is saved when the construction is finished with the new road, it will not add up to the time you lost in delays, no matter if you drive it for the next 75 years. Makes you wonder if it is worth it.
