So, I finally got my 40d today. Let me tell ya, that thing is a BEAST when I look back at using a Digital Rebel and a XT. It feels good in the hands. Came with the 28-135IS (now I just need to buy new lenses). Hope to get some good use out of it over the weekend when I am up in DFW..

Only model I could get on short notice. Just a quick shot to play with it.

We all at one time or another have been there. Did you get the vertical grip too?

Have fun with it! I suggest the grip, too. Balances well and will give you more reasons to shoot vertical because it feels so good.

Nice pup!

I plan on a grip, but main thing now is I need a new bag. My ole Lowepro just wont cut it now. Need space for a 17" WS laptop. Thats next, then I got to deicde if I want one of the 1X-5X 2.8 zooms or the Sigma 24-70 or Tamron 28-75. I've owned both of those and both were fine lenses. I liked the Sigma more cause it just felt better. Heavy and all. The Tamron had to get sent back for repair 2 weeks after I got it. Lens barrel was loose, got it back then had to send it right back due to a QC issue. Came back with felt on one of the inner lens. heh.

My cousin got his 2 weeks ago and he's happier than Daffy Duck in a room full of money and jewels!

He too is planning on the vert. grip, lenses, and a new bag, etc, etc.

My $0.02,

You can shoot vertical without the grip.

What a good lookin' model! That 28-135 IS isn't a bad lens to start with. That was my intro to Canon lenses. Should make a good walking around lens for awhile.
