Article says that it is a faster storage medium than current systems, this sort of demand could drive down prices on new storage cards for cameras and also push the speed and capacities of the cards.
This to me says that the big boys think that the reliability of the cards to go through hundreds of thousands of cycles without failure is way up there since they wouldn't be using them unless they were very reliable.
This would reduce the size of server farms even more! I like their mention of the flash storage groups being the size of a deck of cards, I would assume that this would also include some way of keeping the chips cool under heavy usage.
