Talking City/State Economic Stimulus Wish List Watch - 02-05-2009, 05:22 PM

http://www.stimuluswatch.org/

Don't need to discuss what is on the list here (politics you know), but it is nice to be informed what people want out there.

Go to the MOST EXPENSIVE projects and then pick your jaw back up!

Nice thing is that you can vote for or against any project there.
(heck there are even some Projects in Texas that look worthwhile )

So this is more of a let you know what is going on thing.

Where's the most important one? The 200,000,000 dollar project for me to investigate the state of the French wine, Cognac and Single Malt industries for 15 to 20 years depending on my liver. Naturally, all research will be conducted in the field requiring me to live over there.

No John the most important one, that will employe tens of thousands of people, is the salvaging of all old DIGITAL CHIPS from old Digital Cameras and amassing them into a huge super chip in West Texas that will then go under one of them 100 inch telescopes so we can shoot snapshots of the next men that we have walking on the moon.

Hmmm... they just reported that the Government paid $254 Billion for bank assets worth $176 Billion. That's an overpayment of $78 Billion. I think I could have figured that one out and I would have worked for only 1/10 of 1 percent of the total. :)

That just makes the average tax-paying citizen very angry.

I wish they would just let me keep some of my money so I can spend it where I think it should go. Instead of paying some one to take it, paying someone to move it, paying someone to spend it, and paying several people to watch the others work.

Oh no, you've got this confused with YOUR taxes: this is the taxes that your grandchildren will be paying that is being spent on this stuff: much easier to take... (and much easier to get reelected)

I love the stimulus projects... I really think the entire concept behind 'stimulus' is amazing... I think they do an amazing thing.

Think about it....

The program takes money from the people in the state who are earning an income and directs it towards a SPECIFIC 'approved' industry....which then redistributes it to OTHER people in the state so that they have an income....which means that smaller amounts of money is available for the original earner of said income to spend in the areas in which they place monetary value...which would provide support/growth in the areas where private citizens think their money should be spent...... and heaven forbid that the person who originally earned the income, is in an industry that struggles and possibly loses their job because of the smaller amount of disposable income available....

Way to go US Government!!!
