Just curious, has anyone else here followed the new Battlestar Galactica series? (I call it "new" to distinguish it from the series in the 70's.) They're into the 5th and final season and will be bringing it all to a close within the next 6 or 7 episodes. Just wondering if anyone else here is a big fan of the series. Personally, I love it. It's about the only series that I watch on TV.

Last night's episode was pretty awesome, but I'll save my breath if I'm the only one watching it.

I'm watching, but not always on Friday nights. That's what TiVo is for.

I haven't watched last night's episode yet so don't tell me what happens.

I watch it too...however, I am not to impressed the with the 5th season so far....looks like they are trying to put something together to end it...the first two episodes just seem way to out there even for them....(

YES...I am a SCI-FI freak...

Lets see how they play this one up....Could be very good....depends on how they plan to have the season turn out...

This show is the gods damn best show on television! I'm saddened that it will be over soon. Maybe they'll bring it back in a feature film.

there's already been a green light given to "Caprica" which is supposed to take place sometime in between the 2 Cylon Wars (ie the first one and this one).

btw...if you haven't watched the 10 webisodes that happened between the end of the last season and the start of this one you really need to. It explains quite a bit about Gaeta.

and try finding some of the interviews about what's happening and why etc. There's a lot of stuff going on.

Okay, I cannot help it.....

*SPOILER ALERT* (read on at your own peril)

From this season, I've been surprised at a few things...
1) Earth was a Cylon colony? Wow! Didn't see that one coming.
2) What on earth was it with Starbuck finding herself dead in a Viper?!? It'll be real interesting to see how this one pans out.
3) From a character standpoint, I was happy to see Zarek killed off - especially after he had the Quorum murdered. However, I do think it was very cool having Richard Hatch play the part - kind of an homage to the original series. Also, I NEVER had a problem with Starbuck being a woman. I think she's a definite improvement over Dirk Benedict.
4) Ellen Tighe is the 5th Cylon? To me, that's kind of anticlimactic. However, what's with the previews showing her being resurrected? I thought the resurrection hub was destroyed and that all Cylons everywhere lost the ability to resurrect?
5) Baltar - is he becoming a good guy? Seems like his character has been kind of neglected a bit this season, but I think that's about the change. It'll be interesting to see how he winds up.
6) What's going to happen with Sam? Seems like he was wounded pretty bad. Since he's one of the Final 5 I wonder what implications there will be if he dies.

Can't wait until next week.

Actually, I understand those events happened between the 2nd and 3rd episodes of this current run of episodes.... at the end of the webisodes, he storms off with his boyfriend asking him, "Felix, what are you going to do?" .. we get that answer in episode 3.

1. We never see "Earth" from space - so that we, the viewers, can verify land masses from space. Rumor has it that it wasn't actually Earth -- and that they will find it at the end of the series... where they will all settle. Humans and whatever's left of the human form Cylons... at which point, the metal ones will rebel... "all of this has happened before, and it will happen again"

2. I think somehow she was resurrected by the same technology the final 5 used.. that the Ellen in the flashback alludes to.

3. Ok, that was a spoiler for me.. I'm two episodes behind.. LOL

4. She was my 3rd guess (the first two being Gaeta and Cally, in that order)... she died on New Caprica well before the resurrection hub was destroyed, so she could easily have come back.

5. They keep seeming like they are setting Baltar to be a Christ like messianic figure... I figure he'll die a martyr's death eventually -- at least a martyr to his followers.

6. Again.. spoiler for me, so I have no speculation on it, yet. LOL
