What was the worst experience with a class/seminar/etc in photography?
MINE: 1981, Photo 318 at Stephen F. Austin State University, the professor decided that this was the class (Lighting) that would "Seperate the men from the boys". We had to use hot lights, 4x5 cameras, and it was the WORST class I have ever taken. It scarred me so bad that for almost 25 years I would not use flashes or artificial lighting at all. I hated the whole class, turned me off photography for a couple of years as well. Just a miserable experience.

Trying to shoot the Rolex Series (car racing) at Mid-Ohio with a P&S when everybody else had a DSLR and long glass! That didn't last very long!!!

I shot a firefighter carrying a dead child down the street. I didn't know she was dead at the time. Fifteen years later it still haunts me.
Long story short, the shot became a Canadian Press Picture-of-the-Month, published nationwide, and sparked a movement of firefighters installing free smoke detectors for anyone who asked.

My most miserable workshop had to have been Brad's. Okay, so it wasn't so much the workshop as it was a horrible toothache that required a root canal. I couldn't concentrate on anything and had to leave early because I was in so much pain!
I'm still afraid to set foot in his studio for fear it will happen again... Okay, that's not true either but I have yet to make it back there to participate in another workshop as it was a good one!

Being in a small town in the UK and having my battery charger fry/die.
Had to hope a train for an hour to the nearest "larger" town (Cambridge) and find the one place that sold a charger for Canon DSLRs (a Jessops). Got one of those "all in one" chargers that could handle just about any battery - about 40 pounds (~ $100 US).
Sucked.
Then a week later while traveling though Scotland, the camera had a major malfunction where if you dialed in a setting on the thumb wheel (ISO, EV, Av, Tv, etc) it would only progress one way and not back. Required a hard reset to get back to "baseline" each time. So having to shoot the rest of a dream vacation in Auto mode.
