you know the funny thing about being blind is that your not so lonely. You may not get to see the things in this world but you can communicate. now there are those who would disagree with me, but i know! i have been blind for most of my adult life, and by the grace of god and a few unfortunate donors i can see once again. i have only had my eye sight back for about ten years now, and i have taken advantage of every thing i see, not for the fact that i can see again its just that i can loose my eye sight again in the near future. I took up photography for the simple reason as for not something that i have always wanted to do, for which i have, but to let the world no matter how small or big to see the world as i see it. I dont know if some photographers took up photography for the same(so the world could see it as they see it) or as just a passion of something different. I would love to know and to hear why so many people love photography!

Thanks! I found your post inspiring and reminding me why I leave a trail behind me of photography. What I see, when I stop to SEE what I am seeing, inspires me to record it to the best of my abilities. I do that to share it with those that come after me.

I've been a photographer since I was a child, but only in the last decade have I pursued photography intently. I wanted to capture all the moments of life that I could, all the memories that I could. I, too, have vision problems, and photography offers me a way to see more clearly, besides capturing the beauty around me. Then, too, I wanted a way to document where I had been, to prove that I was at a certain location at a certain time, or could not have been at a certain location at a certain time.

I realize that my feelings about photography have changed in the last few years. I don't know the reason, but I don't have the compulsion that I had a few years ago. Perhaps my current life crises have dimmed the light on my photography, too? Perhaps I'm not seeing as much success with my photography as I had hoped?
