Well found some information on my Great Great Grandfather (maternal) side, he was with Company G 43rd Alabama infantry, and surrendered with General Lee at Appomattox Court House. He was just a private, but later became a Baptist Preacher in Trinity Texas after leaving Georgia/Alabama. I have a huge box of old photos that I need to go through, and I think I will have some photos of him. Private John Wilkins, CSA. A source of pride, and my girls will be able to be members of both the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and the DAC (Daughters of the American Confederacy). As my grandmother used to say, if you don't know where you came from, you will never know what you can become.
