Never have, never will. Not saying it isn't a good idea to keep it around.

Although I voted for having the manual with me, this is true only for my DSLR. I don't have manuals for my other (film) cameras, and don't really need them, either.

"There is a manual?" should be a 4th option.

I always carry my manuals... Especially when it comes to equipment that is less than six months old.

Case in point was just this morning. Friend is out doing a shoot, and I am stuck in the office. He sent me a text on how to set his 580exII flash slave so that it does not auto power off. I googled a bit, and remembered that I have the manual in my bag. Went and got it, and had the answer to him within 5 minutes (to include texting which took up 4 of those five minutes... CF gets auto corrected to Gf everytime in the iphone)

So even with the vast resources of the interwebs, it was nice to have a manual sitting in front of me for the equipment in question. Doesn't really take up that much room in the bag either.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

I am sure it is in the filing cabinet. If I needed to look something up, I would grab the PDF and search.

I voted no but I read both my camera and flash manuals the day before an assignment every time.

Absolutely. Nowadays, it isn't unusual for the synapses in my brain to misfire or fail to fire. LOL

I've been shooting with my camera long enough that I know how to use everything I need to use, and figure out the rest on my own. If I bought a new camera tomorrow, I'd keep the manual in the bag for the first week or two.

I do until I am comfortable with a new camera. however the manuals are getting kinda bulky so I don't like to carry them.
