Got to go through a Secret Service check today lol - 02-24-2009, 08:23 PM

As some of you know I am a mobile groomer meaning we groom at your house, well I have a customer that is 3 doors down from President Bush. Well they have the entire street blockaded there will be a gate built soon but for now they have Two Dallas offices sittin in a driveway and a stop sign.

The cops waved at me I pulled up tp the stop sign and out of a non discriminate white mini van out pops two guys both with the little wires coming out of thier ears. One in a suit with a bulge in the coat. The other in a Secret Service tshirt ( I assume so he can give chase if needed) with body amour on top weapon on hip and ankle.

They already knew where I was going I guess the residents tell them when people come in. they took my DL and ran it came back and we talked a little bit he did give me the dallas contact for the Bush Staff which was cool. I went on to the customers house got the first dog and groomed it when I got out to get the second the lady came out and said well did you see them I said No she said they walk Barney and Mrs Beasley twice a day and I MISSED them lol] She went out and met them one day she was pumped..

Anyway she said its a pretty neat deal all this extra security they have now theres at least 14 SS agents there shes seen them in trees practicing sniper shots.
Anyway that was my excitement for the day I kept Lookiin for Jack Bauer but never saw him

I never met a SS agent I didn't like...Most of the ones I met at the store were with the counterfeit money detail but one of them was assigned to the first President Bush in Houston...He would drive all the way to Conroe to do business with me, said there was no point buying guns anywhere else......Ben

Yeah! Give your customer some business cards to give to them. You're already cool with the SS!

SS, FBI and the like are really good folks. Just look up what kind of qualifications they require and the training they have to go through and you will appreciate all of them.

The last SS guy I met was when I was taking tickets at the HGCA gun show. When I first saw him his appearance just screamed "serious professional law enforcement type you don't want to mess with". The rule is law enforcement in uniform gets into the show free. He shows me this really cool SS badge and asks if he can get in. One look and I tell him "Enjoy the show!".

If you're legit you don't have anything to worry about with those guys.

Well since this is open talk...the first time I "met" a SS guy was when Reagan came to Houston to speak in Tranquility(?) park downtown in 1980. I got there early and found a good spot on a little hill. This was a week before he was elected and it was COLD. So I'm standing there a while before Reagan speaks...then I notice this really big guy standing right next to me with a wire going to his ear. I'm wearing jeans and a heavy leather jacket, a little different look than your typical yuppie you would expect in downtown Houston on a Tuesday. I have to admit that I probably did have that "Taxi Driver" look (without the shaved head, lol). Anyway I decided that it probably was not the moment to be making any sudden moves ;^). I noticed a few snipers on rooftops. I swear half of them were looking back. No trouble though, like I said you don't have anything to worry about if you're legit.

When I lived in Northern Virginia I had a friend who's husband was SS at the white house.
This guy had zero sense of humor and ruled his house with an iron hand. He would tell his kids to "get in your box" and they would run and sit in their designated chairs until told to move.
I envied him in one way, but thought his life was missing a lot.

At least the residents don't mind all that. Bush Sr., moved across the street from my in laws and the neighbors were not happy when they had to put up the gate and all in their neigborhood. We all got to meet the Bush family when they moved in, a get to know your neighbor gathering, which was cool, but the ss didn't even ask for anything from us. The press and all were there to film the whole event. The neighbors next to my in laws are from Mexico and have a monopoly on the celophane industry for cigarette packets. They had moved here b/c their son was kidnapped and held for ransom in Mexico, so they have all their security men with guns and stuff as well. It is a highly secured street!

Secret Service guys are great people, FBI guys I have met have been 90/10 jerks to decent people. Can't stand dealing with the FBI.
