I am starting school in a couple of weeks - 02-25-2009, 04:00 PM

I have been wanting to go to College wentto HCC on and off since having kiddos but as is been a while I lost all my credits!
Hubby has not want me to work since he wants me to stay home with kids but he is ok with me going to school as long as I do it ata time that I can still stay home with kiddos.. so after talking with him I went to a couple of places and interviewed at sanford brown institute and got in I am all set up to start March 10th for Medical Assistant.. is a 10 month progra with last month ebing internship I will go from Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-10:30pm and internship will be full time but hubster wil take off those weeks form work to stay with kiddos s no need for babysitter.. once graduation kicks in I will find a job on weekends at a hospital where my SIL works and can get me in so no need for sitters for kids!
Just wanted to share my news... I am excited and scared!

Congrats!

Being a full time mommy, and a full time student will take some work from everyone to make it work. That is awesome though.

I keep trying to convince myself to go back to school, but I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. *grin*

Congratulations!

Being a full-time daddy/part-time worker has reminded me what's important. You won't regret being able to stay home with your kids, and getting out of the house to learn and then work will become important, too!

Thanks so much Todd!!!! as Frustrating as sometimes being home seem as my kids are so close in age, I am very Thankful to my husband and very lucky to be able to stay home.. I have been home for 7 1/2 years he has wanted me to stay home until kiddos were all full time in school.. my smallest one is 3 1/2 he will start kindergarden next year.. so we are almost there.. my husband has always said (you do not have to get a job when theygo to school but I want you to do something with your time instead of seating at home getting depress) even if is volunteer work as I have done in the past.. but I think is time to make some money and help the family so we can save up for kiddos!

a very old man on a beach in cozumel taught me a lesson i never forgot. after watching me play with my two year old son for a while he walked over and sat down, after a few minutes he said he found out that the yard always needs mowing and the house cleaning. the only thing that changed was one day the kids were gone. don't miss a minute of them, everything else will wait...

Way to go. As a mommy and a student (6 classes this semester) I can tell you it's hard to balance it all. . . but it makes me feel worth while, I'm showing my kids education is important, and will help bring in an income in about 15 months!

Congrats!

I don't think you lose credits until you get to grad school. I started college in 1962, went a couple of years, got married, went back for a year, started a family, and finally finished in 1974. I didn't lose any credits, but a lot of them didn't apply to my final degree (BA in journalism with a music minor). In graduate school you begin to lose hours after 5 years. I had 15 hours towards a master's degree, but couldn't finish in 5 years.
