I don't know why they bothered to put "Public Property" on the sign, but there are lots of areas owned by the public that are not open to the public. The dam near my house being one. Used to be able to drive across it, but now you can't even walk near it.

I am assuming TMC may mean Tacoma Municipal Code. I'll see if I can find the sections cited and see what they say, since this is posted pursuant to those sections.

Well, City Hall is public property, but I dare you to enter the Mayors Office without permission.
Or hang out in the women's restroom if you are a male, or vice versa.

Fort Knox is owned by the country, and thus by the public, so could be defined public property. Stroll there.

I'm thinking it's a typo. Misprinted sign. Rare, but I reckon it could happen.

They mean public, as in government property. Some places owned by the public are off limits, as mentioned above. I'm sure you could get a permit to go in there, though...
