Lots of us. A dozen or more last Saturday at Kleb Woods. Search Large format in the Houston section here.

GOOGLE Clay Harmon. Clay uses a lot of really old lenses on modern cameras with modern film and then makes contact prints with 19th century processes. Everything old is new again. There are a lot of folks in Texas using a ton of old & new gear and old and new processes to make amazing photographs. The whole world has not gone digital yet. Probably won't either.

Join the Large Format Photography Forum & APUG and be amazed.

All of the old processes and gear are alive and well.

Cool It's all in the lens - 02-28-2009, 11:51 PM

Most people I know use modern cameras with their antique lenses. Apparently the lenses lasted better than the cameras. While most old lenses are very useable, the cameras kind of fell apart. There are old cameras around. Most have needed restoring to make them work properly.

A link to some of the best old lens photos anywhere:

Here is a sample from my 1913 Bausch & Lomb Rapid Rectilinear lens.

I have many old box cameras and folders, and a 1950's 8x10... all in fine working condition.... i have some picts taken with a Kodak folder will have to find and post.

I second the recommendation to look at our outing last week... a very impressive showing of camera!

Thank you John.

I don't feel so sage when I screw up.

Thanks for swelling my head!

They do things like the Texas Church Project.

Equipment used....

There's no such thing as an Antique Camera just an unused camera.
