Question hot sexy brides need... - 03-03-2009, 03:44 PM

...to be in the movies. Now that you are here you might as well read the rest of the post. ;o)

This ad is going to play in a local movie theatre for a year. (This is for our bridal shop). Anyway, I put up a poll a few months ago. Its very similar to the one that most of you liked.

This is the proof. (I didnt make it). Im a control freak, so there are things I would change, but I dont want to be a PITA and change stuff that only bugs me. Any suggestions? Is it missing anything obvious? Do you think its all good? Be honest, its gonna play for a year.

Its very fast! Seems like the woman speaking does not take a breath the entire time. Other than that, its great.

Do you watch the ads playing in the movies? Im not sure if it matters how fast she is speaking or not since people are only 1/2 listening. What do ya think?

I do watch, but most of them at our theater would not be business's I'd use, like day-cares or banks. Or are for restaurants I already eat at. Jeff and I mostly talk about how much it would be to put our business up there too, but never check LOL

Holly...

It MAY be a bit fast in dislogue, but it IS only a 15-second spot for theater advertising with a captive audience where viewers (if like me) will likely visually and audibly devour everything on the screen as something to do until the movie starts. Also, having a faster dialogue would not necessarily be a problem because typically I see the advertisements being repeated a number of times in theaters when you get there early enough. If a viewer is interested in your particular type of services, the first pass will grab their attention and they would likely be waiting to view it more intently if it repeats. Just my opinion...

When I worked in advertising for a department store chain, the merchandising manager for the juniors department bought some pre-movie ads. They were quite the hit, although it's hard to determine whether the ads prompted more people to shop/buy stuff or business was just on an upswing anyway (you can always ask your clients where they heard of you, of course).

The woman does talk pretty fast, but I think it looks pretty good. Do you control which movies it is shown before? Just wondering about demographics and if it would be even better if an ad highlighting your prom-type services would be better than bridal stuff at certain movies. But that might be too much control and beyond yours.

ok I only watched it once..and I only remember hearing your name once. Don't remember seeing a website and/or a phone number. Let me caution you...this may not mean anything!!! but even though I knew what it was, I didn't notice it. Now the question would be, will other people remember your name only hearing it once, or know where to look to find you? And that question only you can answer...just something for you to think about coming from someone who's only see the ad once.

On the other hand, I liked it, and read the other comments and expected her to be talking faster than she was!! I have heard people talk faster!!

Thanks. I went with saying the name 2x - its the 1st thing you hear and the last thing you hear. The logo is on the screen the whole time and the web address and location are there too.

I did notice that other ads played 2x before the movie I just saw. The 1st time I didnt really notice it, but the 2nd time I remembered the whole thing even though I wasnt paying much attention.

This is playing on all screens before all movies. Im using it for name recognition mainly. We track where everyone came from and am finding that they are calling the movie ads commercials. Which is weird since the other theatre has a still. Its getting difficult to tell where they heard of us b/c they 1st ad where they heard of us may not have been the ad or WOM that prompted them to come in. Its tricky to track, but I try.

Pretty nice. It's a little fast, but you only have 15secs.
I might of use that billboard image as the first one in the ad. It's a real attention grabber!

Although saying the name a few more times never hurts.

As ads go, I thought it was good. It has the required elements for a good ad. It is visually stimulating it even has motion and a good sound bed. Bravo!

stupid question - we offer financing (its a credit card financed by GE with our store name on it). Should that be on the ad or is that the kind of thing that should just be in the store and on the website? I wouldnt want to say the 12 months no interest no payments thing bc of all the fine print that would have to be on it...so it would just say instant financing available. Is that worth saying?
