I met a lady whose husband had recently died and she was selling off his photography equipment. Namely, a full line of L-Series primes 35, 50, 85, 135, 200. Not knowing the value of them, and not knowing what the bright red ring meant, she had the prices listed at what the more standard, slower versions of the focal lengths were (ie 50mm 1.2L she was listing for $300). I have to admit that I had the urge to buy up every one of the lenses, but I took the time to explain to her why these lenses were much more valuable than she had them listed for. Who wants to be the guy that took advantage of an old lady?
Some people just don't understand what they have....
