If you have Adobe Reader 8 and it tells you there is an update, download now, don't. Or if you do, uninstall Adobe Reader. Then go to Adobe dot com and hit the "Get Adobe Reader" button. It will want to install an Active-X helper, and will then install Adobe Reader 9.1 and the new Adobe dot com beta for "meetings". Much slicker than Microsoft's Netmeeting; the Adobe dot com shortcut on your desktop will open a browser to adobe dot com and let you instantly sign in/sign up and share your computer screen with a URL, which you can customize. You'll have to verify an email about your address(email) within 72 hours to keep using Adobe dot com beta.
Now why did I tell you up front to uninstall first? The Adobe Reader 9.1 download bundled with Adobe dot com will fail to install if you have already let 8 update to 9.
Try it, and enjoy! (The person you share your computer screen with does not have to have Adobe dot com, just a browser.) |
