Alot more video commercial stuff is going to R/C.

Have a coulpe of friends making some money doing commercial work with R/C helis because its cheeper for the production companies.

Think about how much it is to fuel, rent or hire a real helicopter/pilot.

Ummm Not really most of the movies with special effects were done with remote helicopters like Harry Potter, Toys, Matrix just too name a few. Not saying what we have were in that league but I did fly a R/C Heli with film camera for the Fort Worth Cats TV ads last year for an Ad Company out of Chicago, It was good enough for them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvqcE...eature=related not sure it ever aired and still owes the Ad Company for the production.

Sorry but RC will be better, faster, Safer than Full Scale..for a fraction of the cost.

I know, you're right! people with RC rigs are taking all my business. I've been looking into it. I found a really nice set-up that includes everything for $7200, but that's one heck of an investment right now.

Don't forget that you will have to learn how to fly that R/C heli.... It's not easy!

Would a fixed-wing, balloon or kite approach work for you? There are less expensive alternatives to helicopter.

an RC rig would still be a two man job, at least to the extent I'd want to use it. I would find an RC pilot.

For what I'm wanting, a fixed wing or balloon wouldn't cut it. I'd need servos, stabilization gyros, video feed uplink, separate radio remote for the cam, wireless trigger, etc. I would hate to invest in something like this and not be able to match or exceed the quality I'm currently getting.

I've also learned throughout my years as a photog, that I should've just bought the best equipment up front.
