I have the best of both worlds. A Blackberry Curve 8330(Verizon) with the iPhone theme installed. Now I have all the functionality of a Blackberry and my email is on the BES(not to mention I charge about once every 5 days) and I still get the little cool icons that come with an iPhone.

My gf has an iphone. I have a storm. Its a rare day when she can load web pages faster than I can. I had a motorola q before that---same situation. thru all the software updates & whatever other speed features you can think of, it still was a rare day that she could load pages faster than I could.

We have races to see who can type a given block of text faster. Again, a rare day when she gets me and she's been using that phone for well over a year while i'm in my 3rd week with the bb. i'm pretty used to using her phone and so we'll switch, and my vote for texting BY FAR is the bb (I can only speak on the storm though). The whole pushbutton screen was what held me off the bb for a few months. Two days after buying it I'm telling myself i've been crazy for thinking it would be a slower typing experience.

The iphone will kill the storm with apps, only because the iphone's close to turning 2 years...the storm, 4 months. the storm has a bit of heaviness to it that I just love. it actually feels like you're holding somethin in your hand instead of holding air with these thin and light phones. Google maps loads faster on the bb, and gps tracking is a joke with her iphone. I'm not sure if google latitude works with the iphone. I'm not an iphone basher. it's got some pretty cool apps and features. I'm just more for the bb.

iphone is great! Love the apps and the GPS has come in handy many times.
Unless you are going to load a lot of music or photos, the 8g model should be all you need.
