I need an updated phone that will give me internet access so I can check e-mail and all that good stuff away from the house.
I will be getting a mac book at work, and if it works as well as I plan, I will be getting one of my own, too.
so how important is it to have the iphone and inotebook sync'ed?
Which do you use?

I have an iPhone and I love it. The blackberry will allow you to install some apps and access the internet and email, but the iPhone is much more versatile and seems to be more user friendly. I don't know what inotebook is so I can't talk about it needing to be synced, but I have used my co-workers blackberry and am sooooo glad I got the iPhone instead.

I've actually got an HTC TyTn II (sold as the at&t tilt) and I love it. It runs windows mobile and can do virtually everything a blackberry or iphone can do, and more. The only thing the iphone has on mine is the screen. But the new one has a much nicer multi-touch screen. I am not sure when the new one is coming out though. :) Take a look at the HTC phones though. http://www.htc.com
The nice thing about windows mobile is you can get this awesome internet browser called Skyfire. It can run _anything_ - youtube, streaming video/audio, java, flash, etc.

I have been arguing with myself for almost 8 months over 'needing' an iphone.
I had a blackjack prior to this - and I did the research.... most of the iphone's 'preference' is the 80/20 issue... 80% of people only use 20% of the things that something is capable of doing.
My husband took the situation out of my hands (I knew I loved him for some reason, lol) and gave me an iphone for Valentine's day.
This thing is so freaking cool it's unbelievable.
From a photogs perspective - I can update face book - I can update my blog. I can show off my portfolio - and I can listen to webcasts about different things that I"m interested in. (Dave Ramsey!)
It's awesome.
I'm glad my husband took the decision out of my hands.... and I don't say that much about that type of behavior. ;-)

My wife and I both have Blackberry Curves, and both were purchased as refurbs from the AT&T site for next to nothing (my wife's was $5, I bought mine later for about $35). They are great for checking e-mail, not so great for Internet (Edge network and hard to navigate). If full Internet is what you want on the go, the iPhone would seem like a better choice ... as long as you don't mind paying the much higher per-month service fee. I don't need Internet on the go, but if I had it would probably use it.

Being a natural born geek, I had both generation of the iphones and now have the Blackberry Storm. The user interface of the iPhone is one of the best in my opinion, the browser being the best in the category.
With wi-fi built into the iphone, you can surf where you have access where there is wifi and so you're not be dependent on the ATT network.
Palm and Blackberry will be coming out with their own app store so 3rd party applications can be bought through the phones. Since the iphone has been out longer there are more apps out there which are fun and useful. Blackberry has always been geared towards the business minded folks, but in recent years, it has become more mainstream, especially with all the texting, for some, sexting.
Setting up email is easy by going online and setting up the account that way, once done, you'll notice a new icon on your screen for the account you had setup. With texting and email mentioned, do you like the tactile feel of a keys or will you have the patience enough to spend time learning the touch interface. The dictionary on the iphone is one of the best dictionary and as well as guessing what word you're trying to type.
There are facebook, myspace apps for the iphone and BB, so they basically negate themselves.
Now, if you're looking to get a .me account, and have your calendar, contacts in sync with your device, only the iphone. If you're not and you currently have a gmail account, you can download their app to sync your contacts and calendar on your BB, I'm unsure if they have one for the iphone.
With all that said, I said at the beginning I had both generations of the iphone and now the blackberry storm. I have no regrets with ditching the iphone as I got spotty 3g and edge service after 4 returns of the device. For instance, if I had my iphone sitting next to my Storm at home, I would get a strong signal and the iphone would be searching for edge. Multiple calls to ATT said they had an issue with a tower, but no action were taken on it for more than a month, at which time I cancelled my service because I kept getting disconnected(dropped calls) with clients.
If you're sticking with ATT, I would go with the BB, if you're going to stay with tmobile and unlock the iphone, then I would say good choice, though, the G1 on tmobile is nice.

I have a first generation iPhone on t-mobile and I have played with a lot of other phones, but for me personally the iphone is perfect. I love its features like the calendar, contacts, mail, and other things that sync easily with my iMac.
The only issue with buying an iphone now is it looks like there will most likely be a version 3 this summer.

Had the Blackberry before. Their ehh!! Not all that.
Had the 8025 and 8125?? Something like that.. Smartphones.. They charged you for everything. Especially PUSH..
If you have Outlook. Hotmail. Live. Gmail (personal and Business) iPhone is the way to go.
You can Push all you emails to your iPhone. Safari is pretty fast.
And all kinds of apps!! Whatever your pleasure..
Just my opinion though.
Oh, and get the warranty... Don't ask.. Just get it.. You'll be SOOOO glad you did..

It all depends on what will work for you.
I've had 2 Crackberry's (work issued) and loved them.
When I left my last corporate job, I got to keep the Crackberry I had at the time, but had 2 months to get it on my own plan.
When I priced them, then the iPhone 3G, it was about the same costs. My wife needed to upgrade her old phone (ancient Tmobile), and AT&Ts family/shared plan for the 3G ended up saving us money, so we went for them.
I prefer the iPhone now over the Crackberry by a wide margin - bigger screen, more apps, better inet, iPod use, etc.

I have the BB curve 8900 now and I really like the new operating system. It is much nicer and faster than the old OS. Web browsing is much easier. Email is great. Removable battery so i can stack up on spares. QWERTY keyboards are much faster for me. I hate fussing with touch screen.
The iphone does have that cool factor going. Pictures, Apps, and web browsing are incredible. No other phone can compare. It just doesn't cut the cake for me as an actual phone. Speaker volume wasn't loud enough. Battery life is not so good. No removable battery. You can never be more than 20 feet away from an power source. When i look at the iphone, I see a Sunday driver.
They're both great phones. It's all about which one meets your personal needs the best. adrianisonfire added 4 Minutes and 4 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below Quote:

It took way too much time to get anything done. It drove me insane.
