My brother-in-law and I both have next week off and decided on a little road trip. Neither of us has been to Palo Duro so I think we'll head there first. After that, who knows, we'll just pick a direction.

Any suggestions on good photo spots at Palo Duro? We'll probably just be there an evening sleep in the back of the truck that night and spend part of the next day there before moving on.

Just got back from there for spring break. The place is AMAZING. I thought the best spot to shoot the canyon was the scenic overlook not far from the park entrance. The lighthouse formation hike (6 miles round trip) had lots of photo ops. The campsites are way too close to each other for my taste. We rented one of the primitive cabins - they are set up so you can't see your neighbors. They had electricity, small fridge, microwave but no bathrooms. It was my first time there but I'm definitely going back.
