The Ruins of Detriot - 03-16-2009, 10:53 AM

As I'm sure most of you know, a large portion of Detroit is falling into ruins. Entire neighborhoods abandoned and left crumbling. There are a ton of great photos documenting this on Flickr, and Time has featured some photos by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre - http://www.time.com/time/photogaller...882089,00.html

There are more photos on their site http://reliques.online.fr/detroit/detroit01.html

I went back to Detroit in 2007 for a Tigers game. After the game I really wanted to go over to Tiger Stadium and see how the "Old Girl" was doing. It broke my heart to see the shape she was in and the neighborhood around her. Granted the area around Michigan and Trumble wasn't that great the last 20 or 30 years but since 2000 it has really fallen apart.

Yeah, it's very depressing to see some of those houses that are 150+ years old just being left to rot.
