I thought I'd get some response from my Business Talk Post. I was hoping to get a few suggestions, or even a bite or two...But, nothing.

Then, I tried to bump it, and the forum outsmarted me by merging the subsequent post without a blip on the portal page. How's that for clever! Oh well.

If anyone knows a TFP member that might be interested in my Startup Challenge, please encourage them to respond to my post in Business Talk. I'm really just trying to add some more helpful reading to the forum, and I thought it would be a fun way to do it.

Don't get too bummed, man...
this is only my opinion, but, the problem I see is that most people shy away from the word "challenge". Most think, "why participate in a challenge, when I can just copy someone else for free"
Even in photography, there seem to be a great lack of creativity and originality. most think to be successful, just copy someone else's style

Nathan,

Yeah, I guess it's a little more difficult than just going with the flow. I was just hoping that some of the TPFers would realize that the flow is a hard way to go. Especially with the times getting tough, and every other person being a budding PRO photographer with their camera on P and religiously using a pop-up flash.

I've gotten a little response on the Business Talk post, but its mostly skeptics, and Debbie Downers. Updates, as the situation warrants.

I've got a theory, and I may be overanalizing this, (my wife says I do that often). I think that how much response any post gets, has to do with how many people are posting at the time. For example, there are aproxamatly 15 most recent posts showing on the portal page, with any where from 130 to 150 members viewing at any one time. If 15 of these members posted within a few minutes of each other, your post would be off the page. One of your post menchened 30 hits and no response, I have seen posts with 100 hits with little response. But you must also consider, some topics, by their nature, will generate more response than others.
Also there are probably alot of folks on here that, like me, read and subscribe to follow a thread because it is educational, or interesting reading, and never coment on it.
Well this is getting long and I'm out of words. Just thought I'd throw in my two scents worth.
PS. IMO, This is the best forum of its kind that I have found. I'm glad to be a part of it, even in a small way.

I'm not enthused by the use of "auto-merge" on the forum either.
