foreclosed lakefront homes - 03-17-2009, 12:48 PM

So,

Anyone know anything about finding any deals on lakefront property in Texas? Maybe someones loss is my gain? I'm looking for lakefront properties on Travis and Canyon Lake. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking?

Thanks,

Grant

start with a real estate agent.....but folks that buy those houses rarely got subprime notes anyway.

Foreclosure is a public record process, so check the county courthouse for recent filings if your wanting to wheal and deal.

And get in line, because you were not the first to have this idea. We have been looking for over a year. Almost got a local bank repo on Lake Brownwood, but were outbid at the last minute.

a realtor often knows of homes in the pre-foreclosure process; ie, before they are public record. Sometimes called "distressed sales", "owner anxious", and other euphemisms....

Drive the neighborhood and look for signs that a house is vacant, or someone is moving. With all the REO(real estate owned) property comming on the market now sometimes the property will sit for months before it ever makes it to an agent or an auction. Most counties have the tax records online and you can find the owner of the property before it goes for sale. You can save THOUSANDS and get the best deal doing it this way.
