Exclamation iPhone 3.0 OS - 03-17-2009, 04:27 PM

OK, lemme catch my breathe. I believe this new OS will fix JUST about everything we've been barking about!

CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!

Quote:
iPhone OS 3.0 will be a free upgrade to all iPhone users, including the first generation (not all features will be supported in the first generation, like Stereo Bluetooth support). iPod touch users will be able to but it for $9.95.

If it is as great as the article states...I might un-jailbreak my phone and go legit.

Darn. Still waiting on next generation before I get one. 3-4hrs just doesn't work for me since I have to rely on it critically for my day job. The new improvements are nice though. Once the get the battery life up a few more hours, I'll take a look.

Andrew - have you considered using an inverter? I use one - plug my iphone in when I'm driving (I listen to Dave Ramsey podcasts when I drive from Katy to Beaumont) - and it keeps it from draining the battery.

Definitely... But I am up and traveling about a lot... (Not in car)... Many times office to office, etc... I also rely on tethering a lot...which drains batteries even faster. I just need to not have to worry about battery life during business hours. So far, the only thing that serves my purposes (albeit, not near as fun or cool) is my Blackberry.

If I wasn't on call 24/7 in a security capacity, shorter battery life would probably be workable.

I also know that it will take some serious getting used to typing on the iPhone. I have tried a few times and my fingers just can't seem to work the dang thing!! LOL

I do know that eventually, I'll get one though... Just waiting for the right time (for once...)..

It definitely ain't fat finger friendly. I still have a tough time typing. Thank goodness for auto correct!

3-4 hours? what the heck are you doing that only lasts 3-4 hours? wow

I get all day on mine, there's a few occasions when I just plug it in at work or something, but for the most part I get all day except under the heaviest of uses.

I was gonna say...

My battery lasts a lot longer than 3-4 hours, but then again I'm not using data all the time either.

You can get more if you're not using and turning off Wi-Fi and GPS as well as turning down the screen and perhaps checking email less often than every few minutes. But it is much harder to get a lot of time out of it. And I enjoy using those features when I can. I've looked for an external battery but never found what I wanted. But I've never run dry either, so I haven't pushed it.

3.0 is looking pretty good. Even with all the negatives there are so many more positives. I love my iPhone now, so it'll be even better.

This is regarded to be the ultimate battery extender.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, watch the video on their website. That dude is funny. I think he likes the word 'beautiful' and all its variation.
