Question Risers - Team photography - 03-26-2009, 06:02 PM

I am looking for portable risers. Large enough to hold 30-40 people.

So far we've got a quote from this company. They want $5,000 for two sections which includes a cart.

The risers must be light weight and easy to assemble for one or two people.

I hope someone can lead me in the right direction.
-Sonny

Those are choir risers and the treads are too wide and not tall enough for photography. Tom )boxofrocks) was looking for some a while back. I think he found a place to rent them. The real kicker is the liability insurance if you are renting. I use cinder blocks and 2X12's. You can borrow mine if you want.

I remember seeing this post. Rats, it's Dallas. Certainly cheaper though.

Sonny -
You might check these out - they are portable - and they setup individually - so if you have a small group - you can just take one or two - larger group, pack more.

Again those are choir risers and the depth of each riser is too great and the height distance between each is too small.

Mark - renting is certainly an option we'll have to consider. Thank you for the link.

Donna - Thank you for the suggestion. Those risers look really easy to setup! My only concern are the feet and legs. I'm not sure how well it would hold up on outdoor surfaces like grass and soft dirt. Plus I agree with Don. The height between each level might not be enough. Again, thank you for taking time to respond...I appreciate it!

Don - I totally overlooked the insurance. Thank you for bring that to my attention.
