Interesting, I tend to believe that the original idea of it being a publicity stunt is likely still true.

My time in Japan (mid-late 90s) told me that they are a very, very sexist society. Women there are still definitely 2nd class citizens, if that high.

It’s their loss…..

I still want to see baseball remain an all-male game.

I'm curious why you would say that, not that I necessarily have a bias one way or the other but as far as I'm concerned, they can have aardvarks and chipmunks out there playing ball if they can hit, run, and throw/pitch up to certain professional standards.

I want all sports to field the most talented players regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation.

I guess part of it has to do with tradition. Now, if they want to start a professional women's baseball league, that's fine by me. I just don't see any compelling reason to make today's MLB a co-ed sport.

I would share more of my thoughts, but I'm not wearing my flame-proof clothing today.

The result? Not too bad.

Yoshida walked the first batter on four straight pitches, then gave up a stolen base, but struck out the next batter swinging before being taken out
Sounds like a candidate for the Rangers.

This makes me think of Dr. Johnson's remark to Boswell about women preachers and dogs walking on their hind legs.
