After it sat in the box for 5 days, we finally got the new TV set up. The problem was that the old TV (37" CRT) weighed about 20,000 lbs (ok, but I sure couldn't budge it!)..... needed a few neighbors to help! No HD cable or blueray inputs yet, but I did play some photos thru the SD card input....nice...it autosized them automatically and I could rotate if needed via the remote and play a slideshow directly from the card. tonight I played a slide show (MS PhotoStory) from the notebook computer thru the VGA input.....nice. Vista and the TV autosized and made it work without any setup or changes on my part. Seamless.

I could get used to a 42" monitor.

fwiw, we got a Panasonic 42" plasma 1080p. We chose plasma due to the 480Hz refresh and higher contrast, and this one had the inputs i wanted (PC, SD card). We could only go to 42" due to the size of the armoire/cabinet we use.

So Ken, are you also using this TV screen as a computer monitor full time?

i just got a toshiba 42" 1080p and 120htz i have it hooked up to my HTPC wich is networked to my PC my HTPC has a blue ray drive and a 320 gig hard drive my home PC is a pretty bad dual core (i am working on an i7 right now) and has a terabite in it...they are networked and (operated by snap-streams fire fly remote) mostly for our media library......we hold all of our blue rays on the hard drives and any movies we ever rent or some one brings over we upload them to the hard drive and just keep the library accessible so we never have to put in a dvd or blue ray twice...its pretty cool

We're waiting for our old CRT to die before buying a new TV. Anybody want to "accidentally" knock over the cabinet for me?

I might be available if it involves copious amounts of drinking!!

Poor focus behind the camera creates as many bad photos as poor focus through the camera!
