Hello TPFers,
I have the opportunity to return to Rwanda in May to do some documentary work on how PEPFAR funds (the nearly $50 Billion bill Pres. Bush signed last year to address AIDS, malaria, etc. in Africa) for Physicians for Human Rights.

I am trying to do this at no cost to the organization, and this is a sort of an experiment in social networking mixed with micro-financing: I'm trying to leverage all the social networks and blogs (and forums) I'm involved with to raise many, many donors, asking each for a small amount. For instance, if only 10% of my Facebook contacts would chip in $25, I'd have my travel and lodging expenses covered.

PHR is a great organization (a co-winner of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize), and this is an important story that needs telling.

Please check out my site for more details, links, and information on how to contribute.

Peace,
Greg KB

There was an article in the April Professional Photographer that helps photographers fund overseas trips to cover projects for non-profits. Your project might apply. See www.projectexposure.org to check it out.

I wish I could contribute to your project myself, but my family is kind of "nonprofit" right now.
