I saw this yesterday - and she has a GORGEOUS voice... unfortunately, if you want to prove that 'looks' matter more than 'talent'....generally speaking...this would be a perfect example. She's got personality....she's got a awesome voice....and yet she's gotten no where with it.

I think it's unfortunate actually.... there are so many people out there who are so skilled at so many things....and because they aren't considered 'visually attractive'.... by today's 'standards'....they don't get as far as others...even though their area of 'skill' may be better than others.

Seeing the events leading up to her performance and then everyone's reaction after she begins is just priceless. Whether anybody admits it or not, it puts a knot in your throat, and dare I say it, a tear in your eyes. A superb performance by a world class talent. Yay for the underdog.

Am I the only one who thinks if she were "hot" that this wouldn't be getting all this attention? There are no doubt countless singers with a voice like hers or better.

It's just another example how dominated our pop culture has become based on looks, so when an average or below average face comes along we are blown away that she has a great voice. We (society) created this mess.

American Idol and shows like it are a farce, imo. Should someone like William Hung made it as far as he did? All of the contestants are screened well in advance and the bad singers should never make it to the celebrity judges. End of AI rant.
