long battle...but finally good news!!! - 04-15-2009, 01:28 PM

So if you knew me personally...which none of you really do!!! My husband worked for the same chemical company for 21 years...since before he actually graduated from college. He NEVER even looked at anything else even with prodding. Then one day in 06 the man comes home, announces he's quit his job, was told to clear his desk that day (normal) and has two weeks off before he starts his new job. I was not happy...it screwed up life insurance, health insurance, he now commutes an hour (min) each way to work, blah blah blah. That was Aug of 06. Not only does he have a heart condition, but he gave the "gift" to all four of our kids. So screwing with our health insurance is not a good thing.

Since 06 I've been fighting with the insurance company to cover our kids with this ped. card who specialized in electrophysiology....FINALLY they have agreed to cover the kids...not only that, they are going back and covering us back to Aug of 06. Who would have thought that after 2 years...???:banana :: banana:

They didn't want to provide coverage if they knew they could lose on the deal. That's just common sense and good business for them and their stockholders. Can't fault them for making good business decisions.

Oh yeah, but good business decisions cause people to not be able to get coverage. Good business decisions cause people to go broke. Good business decisions can cause people to die.

Congratulations. Politics aside, no one should have to do what you had to do!

Well I'm sure they were hoping i would give up the battle, but there's more than enough money to buy a mark III, so it was worth the battle!! When the kids were first born in 94, I had to go to the ped. card. and tell them what the kids had, how they diagnose it, what test to do, what to look for when they do the test, what meds to put them on, etc etc etc. Now we finally have doctors that actually know more than me and they don't want me to use them???? I'm fighting for that one baby!!
