I really think its a shame that the media exploits something so ridiculous. She gets worldwide attention not because she can sing, but because she Isnt that good looking.

I agree. Her voice is pretty good, but it isn't exceptionally great as a lot of people have been portraying it.

She will make a lot of money on one CD because of her story and her clear status as an underdog, then she will fade into the background and no one will remember her.

Well, with so much crap going on in the world it's nice to see people get excited over something that is actually good and decent. This is news that I don't mind getting hyped up about.

Also, I haven't seen anyone sing with true feeling like that in a long time. I think it's refreshing.

Watch that one. It is a great showcase of her voice. I wasn't nearly as impressed by the first one.

My better half is a professional singer and has a degree in voice education. I had her listen to Boyle's songs without hearing the interviews and asked for a voice criticism of her.

The opinions I expressed are hers. I have no qualifications to be judging singers, but I have been learning a lot about what to listen for.

As with most things... A professional judging another is just like photography. It's pretty much a subjective opinion. Neither right nor wrong.
