After seven trips to the San Francisco area in 2007-08 for business I promised myself that I'd go there for a pleasure trip sometime. Well, I just booked a trip for my wife, 15 year old son, and myself for the long Labor Day weekend. The calendar says full moon the day we arrive. I'll no question be at the Golden Gate with camera for that. I'm praying for clear skies!

Make sure you take shorts and a heavy jacket. Days can be warm but evenings and nights will always be cold. Once the fog rolls in, the temperature drops quite a bit. Have fun. It's a great place to visit. I lived there for over 30 years.

I'm off to the Bay Area Thursday - Sunday. Not sure if I'll have a chance to take many photos.

Abel, what spot did you shoot from? The park?

here are a couple of quick edits from my trip this past weekend...

My bridge shot would not have been possible without my san fran friend Alan loaning me his tripod for a couple of shots... I owe you my friend!

Another Bridge shot which I have Alan to owe for...

City Hall and Farmer's Market in IR on Sunday before my flight...

Palace of Fine Arts in IR on Sunday before my flight... man I was hustlin' to get to these two locations before I had to get to the airport. I wanted to get back to Fort Barker and shoot some IR from the pier but I didnt think I could swing it so I went to the "little gazebo" instead.

Great shots! Were you on the northeast side down below the overlook for the bridge shot?

yeah.. theres a little fishing pier down there in Fort Baker:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...h&z=13&iwloc=A

its a great spot... i didnt get all the way to the end of pier... i really should have to get a little different angle. the color photos was from on lan at the start of the pier. the sepia image was about half way down the pier.
