Flat to me means lacking in saturation or contrast and without any pop so to speak. Soft usually means that the focus is just not sharp. I have heard the terms used interchangably however. As previously mentioned, "flat" means low contrast (antonym: "pop") and "soft" means missed focus (antonym: "sharp"). I've never heard the terms interchanged. |
