First, let me say that I do maintain proper hygiene.
My nose isn't particularly greasy, but no matter what I do, I can never seem to avoid getting noseprints and smudges all over my LCD screen.
I hate it! Please tell me, how do all you guru's keep from getting these annoying prints on your screen?
It's driving me INSANE!!! Hell, I have fleeting thoughts of switching to this format I once heard about called "film photography", where noseprints on LCD are a non-issue.
Please advise

Canon makes an eyepiece extender that moves the eyecup a few mm away, but it needs some modification. Out of the box it comes as a magnifier, but the "glass" (plastic?) inside degrades the image considerably. A few screws and whatnot, you have an empty tube that moves you a wee bit away.
Or you can get a Delkin flip-protector, but the folks I know that have them complain that the flip-contraption can fall off occasionally. http://delkin.com/products/popupshades/index.html

I use a soft cloth and wipe the LCD off every time it gets sufficiently greasy to annoy me.

I use a Flipbac. I love it. Protects the LCD, but I can also take waist level and 90 degree shots. And it hasn't fallen off yet, I've had it since Christmas. http://flipbac.com/.htm

My D80 came with a funky little LCD screen protector when I bought my camera - and it's plastic, so it doesn't get the oily nose prints like it might if it was 'just' the LCD.

What Tom said. My guess is that you shoot with your right eye to the eyecup (like me). When you do, your nose ends up on the LCD. Check to see which eye is dominant (lots of tests on the internet but here's an archery link) - you may find you're actually left eye dominant. Like most things, you can change but it takes time to feel natural. Other than that, get an extender or just plan to clean it off regularly.

I use my left eye to shoot, but my nose is so big I still get a few schnozprints on it. Hey, as long as those prints don't show up on your images, it's all good.

I was not expecting this to be on the camera and was thinking about a desktop LCD monitor...I was going to suggest getting glasses and sitting more comfortably

I'm left eyed, but I still get a fair amount of sweat there on the right portion of what is now the Flipbac cover over my lcd. Especially while hiking or biking, I get a very sweaty nose and cheek area, and when a photo opportunity comes up, there is usually not time to dry off first.

Anyway, nose prints on the camera LCD... no big deal, I use the viewfinder, not the LCD.

$5k to fix a problem that you could fix with a $2 box of Kleenex!

Forget the LCD, my problem is that my nose presses the command buttons and changes the focus point.
