Great line up this year at the Austin City Limits music festival.
Anyone plan on going?

They say you can bring small cameras in, so that's cool.

Last year i brought my d700 no problem with 35-70 on it. TONS of people were walking around with slr's. You could be the exception of course, but you should be fine. I'm not going this year, but if i were, i'd leave my camera at home and enjoy the music.

Cool!
I don't think I'd want to bring a SLR, just something better then my cellphone camera

Do you have any pics from last year online for viewing?

Bought my tickets during the pre-sale!

They don't really check bags thoroughly. I got my DSLR by stuffing it at the bottom of my backpack and putting other junk on top to cover.

And I'm glad they fixed up Zilker Park this year so it won't be all dusty like yesteryear.

Sounds like a great lineup. What's the difference between VIP and regular admission? Is it worth the price difference? How many stages do they run at a time?

They run all their stages at the same time. Different bands go to different stages at different times. I think last year had +/-7 stages.

VIP is $150 shy of a grand, I think. You get all sorts of perks; food, sitting areas above the stages, parking, special restrooms, etc. For regular admission, it depends on how many days you want to go for. The 3-day passes are all they're selling at the moment, the 2-days and one day passes come later. The 3-day passes are currently $185.

The VIP area has air conditioned bathrooms. That could be worth it alone!
But we just got the regular 3 day passes.

Jake you can get a dslr in without a prob. They are more concerned with other items than a camera.

How you doin'?

except for the Headlining sets, which should be only two or maybe 3 stages.
