Ok, so I woke up today with a sore throat. No biggie, but now I'm started to get chills and dizziness. And, if they quarantine us, I have NO groceries at all! This sucks b/c I really shouldn't go to the g-store and expose more ppl if indeed I do have it. UGH!

Just as a heads up, if it is the flu, swine or otherwise, get to your doc quick, since you need to start antiviral meds within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms for them to be effective.

Thanks, Cindy! I will definitely do that. I'm just going to see how I progress today, and then go tomorrow if I get worse.

yup, and taking Tamiflu if you don't have the swine flu could actually make you more susceptible to getting it.

Leslie, if you do need anything let me know... I'll send someone over there with their hazmat suit on!

Maybe go to one of the Walgreens that has a Doc-in-a-Box to get a quick checkup and meds.

My wife has had to (or really just does it, not have to) slap me a few times in the last few days for going out of my way to sneeze and cough in the theater, grocery store, restaurant, etc. She doesn't think it is funny. I was watching one lady in the grocery store with a mask, rubber gloves, and clean wipes wrapped around the basket handles - I got my first smack for coughing next to her.

I'm praying that you don't have the flu of any kind. Knowing your enviable travel habits makes the worry scale go up a notch... I have to say though... to heck with the hazmat suit... if one has to catch something I can't think of a better person to get it from

Leslie,

Monday morning I had the same symptoms that you are describing. I went to the doctor and it appears that I had a really bad sinus infection I while back that I had not ever gotten over. The infection had built up in my body and got to a point of making me feel really bad (sore throat, body aches, cold chills, fever, and just plain feeling bad). The doctor gave me a prescription for anitbiotics, Mucinex, and told me to pick up cold and sinus medicine. The next morning, I woke up and felt worse (I actually thought I may have the swine flu). I called in for work for the first time in over 8 years. After 2 days, I guess the antibiotics started kicking in and I began feeling better. As others are suggesting, get to the doctor and get some antibiotics. I pray that you start feeling better soon.

and start gargling with salt water - it helps the sore throat whether it's the flu or from sinus draining. the salt draws the fluid out, thereby reducing some of the swelling and is just plain soothing. - oh - and it's a natural bacteria killer as well.
